Captain’s log : Day 9 : Seeing good response on Youpid, good number of sign-ups over the first week. Started the day with an interesting discussion on Twitter which covered arranged marriages, love marriage, the search for a partner, Youpid and much more. Perfect.

Primarily, this post is to address a question I’ve been asked a couple of times on Twitter. I felt it would make for a perfect blog post.

“Why doesn’t Youpid have Facebook or Orkut integration?”

I’m going to quote myself from a recent discussion I had regarding this:

Third party social network graphs always come with their own restrictions and limitations (privacy/depth). We are building our user’s social graphs focused specially for the purpose of matrimony, such that we can leverage it to offer several key offerings in the near future. Seeding the service, using an existing social graph would restrict us from offering a complete social matrimony experience to our users. Youpid’s proprietary search engine digs deeper to find relevant matches from our users’s social graph. Furthermore, it was important to us for Youpid’s matrimonial offering to be available to all consumers, regardless of their social networks preferences.

We want you to meet people like you, through people who you know and who know you the best. We want to give you the freedom of doing so at your discretion. We will plan to use Facebook integration in the near future, however, it was important for us to have our offering available to ALL.

Keep those sign-ups coming at www.Youpid.in
